Costume Styling & Curation – Miss North East Diva 2023

As part of the Miss North East Diva 2023 pageant — a prestigious platform that channels the talent of Northeast India into national and global stages such as LIVA Miss Diva, Miss Supranational, and Miss Cosmo International — I had the opportunity to assist designer Anna Kaushik in the design and styling of costumes for participating models.

The collection celebrated Northeast India's cultural richness while embracing modern pageantry and couture fashion. Key design elements included:

Traditional Wear: Outfits crafted from Muga silk, Assam’s indigenous fabric, blended with satin, pure silk, pearls, and pink glitter fabric to create dramatic yet elegant silhouettes. The looks were completed with curated modified Assamese jewelry, which I helped source from Lemonshandcrafted accessories, maintaining cultural authenticity with a modern twist.

Gown Designs: For the evening segment, I assisted in designing gowns made from pink glitter fabric and complementary solid pink textiles. These pieces embodied femininity, grace, and stage impact, aligning with the glamour required for high-stakes beauty pageants.

Cocktail Line – Black Dresses: I also contributed to styling the cocktail segment featuring black dresses constructed from satin, net, and sequin-embellished fabrics. These designs balanced boldness and sophistication, perfect for pre-event appearances and press interactions.

My contributions included assisting in costume design, fabric coordination, and accessory curation, ensuring each look translated the designer’s vision cohesively. This project deepened my experience in styling for pageants, textile selection, and cultural-meets-contemporary storytelling through fashion.
