Shushi – Open-Air Sushi Restaurant
Location: Hyderabad, India
Client: Confidential
Type: Hospitality – Restaurant
Design Concept: Contemporary Tropical Minimalism
Status: Concept Design
Brief Description:
Shushi is an open-air sushi restaurant concept designed to embrace natural elements and offer a tranquil dining experience under the sky. Set against a serene coastal backdrop, the structure combines modern architectural language with warm, natural materials. A prominent feature of the design is the central pine tree piercing through the roof, symbolizing harmony between nature and built form.
The layout encourages social and communal dining with long wooden benches and concrete accents, paired with a central sushi bar clad in natural stone. Translucent green-glass roofing and angular panels provide shelter while maintaining openness and a connection to the surrounding environment. Ambient lantern-style lighting adds a soft, inviting glow, ideal for evening service.
This project reflects a sustainable and experiential dining approach, designed to stand out in Hyderabad’s evolving culinary scene.
